because of the ruin and destruction of mankind = Buddha
Once upon a time, when Lord Buddha was in the orphanage in Jetavana of Sravasti,
At that time, after midnight had passed, a deity came to Lord Buddha, (here deity means elder in age whom we respect) and standing aside in his respect, addressed the Lord and said the following shloka-
O Gautama, I am going to ask you a question regarding the downfall of man. Please tell me what are the causes of man's downfall!
'Who is on the path of progress and who is on the path of downfall and this is like simple knowledge. One who loves Dharma is on the best path and one who hates Dharma is on the path of downfall.
One who is on the path of downfall, he likes bad people, he does not like good people and he trusts bad people more. The second reason for his downfall was his trust in the evil mind.
Sleep, the habit of sleeping too much, taking rest, the habit of chattering, not working, restlessness, laziness, anger are the third causes of downfall.
The fourth cause of downfall is not taking care of your aged parents even though you have wealth.
'Giving false advice and deceiving Brahmins, Shramanas or other sadhus is the fifth cause of downfall.
'You have abundant wealth, gold and grain, yet you enjoy it alone, is the sixth cause of downfall.
'Being proud of your lineage, wealth, caste and hating your relatives is the seventh cause of downfall.
'Adultery, drinking alcohol and gambling is the eighth cause of downfall.
'Having an insatiable sexual intercourse with other women, prostitutes and other prostitutes even though you have a wife is the ninth cause of downfall.
'The eleventh cause of downfall is, giving power or wealth in the hands of intemperate, profligate men and women who spend excessively, unnecessarily.
You have very little wealth or property and yet you are born in a high caste and so you have excessive ambition and desire for sovereignty. This is the twelfth cause of downfall.
All these are causes of downfall. You will be saved only when you conquer all of them.'
इंसान की बर्बादी और विनाश के कारण = Buddha
एक समय की बात है, जब भगवान बुद्ध श्रावस्ती के जेतवन में अनाथालय में थे,
उस समय, आधी रात बीत जाने के बाद, एक देवता भगवान बुद्ध के पास आए, (यहां देवता का मतलब आयु से बड़ा होता है जिसका हम आदर करते है )और उनके सम्मान में एक तरफ खड़े होकर भगवान को संबोधित करते हुए निम्नलिखित श्लोक कहा-
हे गौतम, मैं आपसे मनुष्य के पतन के विषय में एक प्रश्न पूछने जा रहा हूँ। कृपया मुझे बताएँ कि मनुष्य के पतन के क्या कारण हैं!
'कौन उन्नति के मार्ग पर है और कौन पतन के मार्ग पर है और यह सरल ज्ञान की तरह है। जो धर्म से प्रेम करता है वह श्रेष्ठ मार्ग पर है और जो धर्म से घृणा करता है वह पतन के मार्ग पर है।
जो पतन के मार्ग पर है, उसे बुरे लोग पसंद आते हैं, उसे अच्छे लोग पसंद नहीं आते और वह बुरे लोगों पर अधिक भरोसा करता है। उसके पतन का दूसरा कारण उसका बुरे मन पर भरोसा था।
नींद, बहुत अधिक सोने की आदत, आराम करना, बकबक करने की आदत, काम न करना, बेचैनी, आलस्य, क्रोध ये पतन के तीसरे कारण हैं।
चौथा पतन का कारण है धन होने पर भी अपने वृद्ध माता-पिता की देखभाल न करना।
'झूठी सलाह देना और ब्राह्मणों, श्रमणों या अन्य साधुओं को धोखा देना पतन का पांचवां कारण है।
आपके पास प्रचुर धन, सोना और अनाज है, फिर भी आप इसका अकेले आनंद लेते हैं, यह पतन का छठा कारण है।
'अपने वंश, धन, जाति पर गर्व करना और अपने रिश्तेदारों से घृणा करना पतन का सातवां कारण है।
'व्यभिचार, शराब पीना और जुआ खेलना पतन का आठवां कारण है।
पत्नी होने पर भी अन्य महिलाओं, वेश्याओं और अन्य वेश्याओं के साथ अतृप्त संभोग करना पतन का नौवां कारण है।
'ग्यारहवाँ पतन का कारण है, असंयमित, अपव्ययी पुरुषों और महिलाओं के हाथों में सत्ता या धन देना जो अत्यधिक, अनावश्यक रूप से खर्च करते हैं।
आपके पास बहुत कम धन या संपत्ति है और फिर भी आप एक उच्च जाति में पैदा हुए हैं और इसलिए आपके पास अत्यधिक महत्वाकांक्षा और संप्रभुता की इच्छा है। यह पतन का बारहवाँ कारण है।
ये सभी पतन के कारण हैं। आप तभी बचेंगे जब आप इन सभी पर विजय प्राप्त करेंगे।'
