The Prince and His Servant
When Gautama asked his servant to go back home, the servants refused to go back. He insisted the prince to take his horse Kanthak to the bank of the river Anobha and leave him.
He looked back and said following me has proved your devotion to me You have won my heart by your devotion to the Lord A son is brought up to feed the family The world loves for hope There cannot be some unintentional selfishness She is my mother who bore me in her womb with infinite pain Where am I in relation to her and where is she in relation to me now?
As birds gather together in a tree for their shelter, and then depart from each other, the companionship of animals inevitably ends in separation, and in the sense in which the whole world goes on deceiving one another, it is not right to regard mine as mine in the fearful conjuncture.
